Heritage Hotel Cardo is located in the very heart of Diocletian’s Palace, the best preserved Classical Roman imperial residence in the world.
The Heritage Hotel Cardo is located within a two-story building with a façade reflecting all the historic and cultural periods of Medieval Europe: Romanesque, Flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance. The warm ambience is emphasized by natural light penetrating the handmade stained-glass windows. The entrance to this small, but unique hotel is from the former main street Cardo (now Diocletian’s street), after which the facility was named.
The Heritage Hotel Cardo is located precisely over the Classical via cardo porch, constructed on the wide city street in the Middle Ages against the wall of the grand northern basilica, which was the administrative center of the palace, and the remains of its massive walls built with the opus mixtum technique are presented in the interior of some of the rooms.
