Some researchers believe Marco Polo brought macaroni to Italy in the 13th century from China. Our famous globetrotter, born on the island of Korčula, in his book The Million mentioned macaroni as well. The legend says during a snow storm in Mongolia, he craved homemade macaroni from Korčula. If you are looking for a casual atmosphere and genuine homemade food go in a lovely courtyard between Pjaca square and Fruit square only 3 min walking from Cardo Hotel.

Konoba Nikola

Konoba Nikola is located in Stobreč, small place 15 min driving from the Hotel Cardo. This family owned restaurant is specialized for seafood dishes. The owners, chefs and waiters make sure that their fish is freshly caught, vegetables newly plucked and picked, and the meat is locally sourced. Because of that, and the traditional way of preparing food, you will not be disappointed with a single meal here. Fish is definitely something we suggest you try. Reservations are encouraged in a high summer season but keep on mind that our reception staff are able to find a table and then when it seems impossible.

UJE OIL BAR

Uje oil bar is located 50 meters from Hotel Cardo and has become inevitable stop in Split for gastro tourists and those who are yet to become ones. Oil bar is more than a restaurant: they offer an extremely rich selection of olive oils, and their staff is well educated for the presentations of olive oils and wines as well. The menu is based on the traditional Dalmatian cousine, presented in a modern way.
